About
About my apparel
Most of the apparel on this shop is made to order, or made in limited small batches. All of my tshirts are made of high quality organic cotton. I mainly use blanks made by Earth Positive. I screenprint using water based eco friendly inks. Most of the embroidery thread is use is made out of rayon, a man made natural fiber.
I am slowly transitioning over to custom made blank apparel, made for me in small batches by a trusted factory in China, with whom I have worked before in producing my skirts. I work with them closely to ensure I pick the best materials, and create the perfect fit for my clothing. As much as I would love to produce things in Europe, as a small independent designer it's very difficult to find a factory that would work with small brands like myself. I am currently looking into local knitwear factories, which are easier to find, but it's going to be a lengthy and costly journey!
The artwork on the garments is designed and printed (or embroidered) by me. Sometimes I will produce them in small batches (for example, when preparing stock for a convention), and sometimes they're made to order, just for you! Because screenprinting takes a lot of time to set up, I will usually restock these in larger batches, less often. I try to keep up with the stocks, but sometimes, some of the sizes may be out of stock for a while.
I'm very passionate about different fabrics, materials, about their qualities and properties. I'm also very passionate about using as little polyester and acrylic fibers as possible in my apparel. This means, I'm planning to continue to make 100% cotton sweatshirts - maybe they will seem 'less soft' without the standard polyester fleece, but they will wear better and last much longer, while being more breathable.
For knitwear, I will always aim to use merino wool or cotton. As a hobbyist hand knitter myself, I've learned to avoid acrylic yarn in my projects, so I would not like to offer my customers anything less.
Sometimes, polyester is unavoidable - socks contain nylon to help with elasticity and wear. My hoodies feature polyester fleece to make them thicker and warmer. My skirts are currently made of polyester because sublimation printing on cotton is a much more difficult and expensive process, which much higher minimum quantities. My knitted tote bags are made of acrylic, because other fibers will be more prone to stretching over time, when used as a bag.
I am actively trying to find the best way to provide the best quality of clothing that I can! As someone who is very passionate about clothing design and production, you can trust me that every piece of apparel in my shop was made with lots of research and love and care for the process <3
